What is Glazing Manifestation?

Glazing Manifestation

Glazing manifestation is a legal requirement to make clear glass more apparent to avoid people accidently walking or running into it.  The requirements are laid out in the Building Regulations Document M section 2.24, and the HSE (Workplace Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulation 14.

The minimum requirement is for two bands of continuous 50mm strip, or bands of dots, squares or other marks for each panel of glass.  The upper band must be 1400-1600mm  and the lower 850-1000mm above floor level.

Glazing Manifestation can be freeform for aesthetic and other purposes such as to project a corporate image or a vibrant message or picture.  It must also perform the function of manifestation, to make the glazing apparent for health & safety reasons.
